Artist in THEIR Residence Number 2: Rizpah Amadasun
Our second Artists in THEIR Residency is with self-taught artist Rizpah Amadasun, an emerging Afrocentric artist in paint and spoken word. Rizpah focuses on positive representations of the African Diaspora through the predominant use of acrylic paint and addresses topics such as Black female resilience, positive Black narratives and promoting joy in the face of hate and fear.
She said: “The diversity within the Black British identity thrills me on a multitude of levels. It is shared experiences, ambitions and right to be recognised in mainstream spaces that I strive to address in my art.”
